Hmmm that’s disappointing.
Anyone?

Yes, I have but we built it ourselves so probably not yet answer you're after!

I will say that it's the best thing we ever did though. I WFH permanently now and look forward to going to my lovely garden office every morning (well not quite but it definitely makes work more bearable!)

Well we've started building one... But literally just started with the foundation. My husband is custom building it. He's spent ages on researching insulation, roofing, big windows etc.

We're choosing our favourite parts of several models. It's much cheaper than a kit.

We are in the process of doing one, the concrete base is down and we are just waiting for delivery. It’s a log cabin type from Dunster House.
We hope it will be up by the end of the month but we may have to wait a few more weeks for power and internet to go in.
Happy to answer questions.

Yes. Very lovely addition to the garden. Used by teenaged kids for socialising and sleepovers. Also as my office.

Fully insulated, wired etc.

Ours was about £20k 9 years ago from a decent company. Can't remember the name sorry! But they have done a couple for DIY SOS

ILoveAllRainbowsx · 16/06/2022 20:45

Do they cost a lot to heat or are they well insulated,?

We moved into a house with one so possibly no help either!
Ours is quite big, a quarter of it is separated as used as a shed.
The summer house it's self we used as a multipurpose room. There is a sofa, an arm chair, desk with computer equipment and a server underneath, also a TV. Rug in the middle with storage around the outside

The 4 kids use it there are big age gaps so computer etc is for the nearly adult.

The sofa plus a blow up mattress turns into a room for sleepovers for the teenagers. They can watch the TV, listen to music on Alexa.
They also hang out in it early evening where eldest goes out there much later.

Youngest tends to use it straight after school, she has her own little bits in there and plays. Also handy for friends in the summer.

Gets used most in summer as we need to put more paving in, it gets a bit slippery on the grass in winter.

I was originally going to use it as an office, but I use the conservatory and the kids go to the end of the garden.
Least I'm nearest a toilet! Grin

Thanks everyone!
Thats brilliant to hear.

I’ve recently started to WFH and as our house is so tiny, I’ve got a small wall mounted desk in the living room.
Not great.

just thinking about my options.

Our sounds very much the same as @2MinuteRice set up. Sofa, armchair, desk, TV, rug, storage, microwave and fridge. Fully insulated. We had a landscaper build it for us. My husband works from it and our two sons (6 & 3) constantly bother him which is great for me. I love having the house to myself when they are in there.
Friend's teenagers absolutely love it also and see it as a cool hangout space. I'm glad I insisted in getting it built a year ago at the same time as new house renovation.

An unused summer house got turned into an office during lockdown. It has two desks, a table and filing cabinet. Terribly expensive wall heaters which will probably be replaced with infrared before next winter. We love it. Worth investing in a decent WiFi extender too and making sure there is line of sight to the garden office.

Crane garden buildings.

love love ours. Fits two people working in a small garden

mrsjackrussell · 16/06/2022 21:28

I have one that im pleased with . Its insulated as well. I couldn't recommend the company though as I had a couple of issues with it and I had trouble getting them to do anything about it. Eventually after being so stressed over it they sent people out to put it right. Im happy now. The company was Waltons.
