Seller says it's not her problem?

I ordered something from eBay a while back.

It finally got dispatched (late).

Anyway, I wasn't in at the time and Parcel Force dropped it off to Royal Mail inside a WHSmiths store.

Went there at the weekend. Sign up saying 'Temporarily Closed'.

Went again yesterday. Again, no sign of it opening again or when it will open again. Sigh still up 'Temporarily Closed'.

I passed by in the AM and PM.

Does anyone know what I can do? I've asked seller to help me track it down and she said it isn't her problem, the item has been delivered so she's fulfilled her sellers responsibility

You can call Royal Mail and tell them to track it but they will say the seller should call.

So the seller should call, and then they will launch a case, case will show undelivered. Then seller needs to open a claim and gets lid from Royal Mail and pays you.

Start by asking to see her evidence of delivery. Is it actually evidence of delivery? I think this depends on whether she can defend her argument that it's been delivered.

...and if it's not clearly evidence of delivery, you can open a claim against her for non-delivery without having to convince her to chase it, once the right period has passed.

The OP says she has been told it was delivered as she wasn't in at the time.
The seller is right
The OP wasn't in. The package was taken to a drop off. The drop off is closed.
Not the buyer's fault as such, but less the seller's.
You can start a not received claim and you will get refunded.
But this is why eBay has become so shit for everyone.
(I only buy, or at least used to)

Do you have an attempted delivery card or anything with a phone number on? If you do then ring them. If not then it’s up to the seller to chase as the delivery contract is between her and Parcel Force.

Shoxfordian · 15/06/2022 09:59

Presumably the drop off will open again so you just have to wait for that I suppose; don’t think it is the sellers problem

Clymene · 15/06/2022 10:00

It's not her problem that they dropped it off at a shop that is temporarily closed, no. You could contact WH Smith and/or the post office to find out when it's reopening.

ILoveYoga · 15/06/2022 10:17

Agree with above about opening a case on eBay.

however, if you actually want the item, Presumably you have a card indicating it was taken to WH Smith. Have you rung the branch or looked on line to find out if there is more information about when they’ll be open?
