French and Latin to A-level at school. German and Spanish to AS-level at evening classes, plus also German boyfriend for some years. Welsh at evening classes, though they have been one in more recent years (since before covid, due to lack of local teachers.) I'm doing them all on Duolingo before I lose them entirely (though I'm about to run out of Latin, which doesn't go as far as I used to know,) and also doing Dutch from scratch there, with a couple of grammar books as well, because Duolingo is crap at explaining things, and stuff makes more sense if to me when I know it's doing that because it's a subordinating conjunction or whatever.

I'm fluent in nothing (including English some days,) but I like being able read, and I like seeing patterns between different languages. I did Spanish because I could already read some, having done French and Latin, and Dutch is quite easy with English and German, and pretty much everything is easy compared with bloody Welsh mutations...
