Genuine part time working from home - the Holy Grail??

It honestly feels like I may be looking for the holy grail but I am looking for a part time job - solely working at home. I have been searching and searching but just keep ending up on dubious websites or ones offering money for surveys! I work term time in a school so need something I could do in the evening and weekends. Can anyone recommend any job websites that advertise genuine working from home jobs? The rise in cost of living means I am desperately looking for ways of making more money!

Is there a particular reason you need to WFH

Working from home is the best thing!

I got mine on a local job website, one that you have to sign up for to see the jobs listed. I do 4 4 hour shifts a week, WFH. Energy companies, telecommunication companies, customer service roles all done by phone can all be done from home, but it seems a lot are idiotically trying to make staff go back to offices, so you’d have to pick through that to better companies.

Yes - childcare issues, my husband works away a lot!

Who will look after your children when you are WFH?

HTruffle · 11/06/2022 17:23

I work for a local council and lots of jobs continue to be wfh. Also audio typing, etc?

HollyDayDream · 11/06/2022 17:39

Do you mean a job with flexible hours then? One which you choose your own hours to complete your responsibilities during times when your husband is at home to care for the kids?

Lots of jobs wfh advertised in my area are definitely not ones you can do when you’re responsible for looking after children. E.g. call operators or computing/clerical work.

The only roles I can see that you’d be able to do with children would be self employed ones where you’re in charge, or zero hour contracts. But watch out for MLMs! These aren’t great if you’re relying on a consistent income though.

Check out the earn £10 a day thread in Money for stuff you can fit around other jobs.

If it's work that can be done in the evening then I imagine they will be asleep, so won't need actively looking after?

I've been looking into this too op. I only want very minimal hours as I have another small side hustle and have caring commitments. I was looking for something like data inputting but so far I can't see anything that fits (wouldn't mind going into an office locally but I only want 2-4 hours a week and I can't imagine there are many places that offer this).
