Felt like a magician today when I turned one cake into two for my toddler!

My toddler demanded two fairy cakes today, which seemed a bit much for a pudding. Using my impressive scientific abilities, I cut the cake in half and she was delighted to get two cakes 😂Has anyone else impressed their kids with their seemingly magical skills?

I once drove back from my sister's house 3 hours away with my young children in the car. They all slept and woke up when we got home, thinking the journey had taken no time at all. DS said that I was magic Grin.

My 10yo was upset it was her friends birthday and she hadn't got her a card.

I introduced her to my card stash. One happy 10yo.

You were lucky. My toddler said her bread was too big. Cut in half it became "broken". Cue screaming. See also the many biscuits consumed by me because they were broken and therefore inedible.

If you want to blow a young child's mind, put some objects in a circle and ask them to count them.

Then put them in a straight line and get them to count them again.

Or put the same number of objects in a row - make 2 rows but make one row longer, and ask them which has most objects in. Then get them to count them.

I used to have a "magic spoon" that could always get more yoghurt/custard/soup etc from the bowl Grin

Dd wanted a milkshake, none in, so shook the 4 pinter of milk to make it bubbly and poured into a cup. She loved it 🤣

My dc and other children were always amazed that I could immediately produce a tissue from about my person at the very instant it was required.

Mainly due to the fact that I tend to wear jeans, and that I always have some in my back pocket, but hey ho, magic to them

Fabulous!

Not me, but we kept a special magic muslin for when our kids couldn't sleep. It could cool them down if they were too hot, warm them up if they were too cold, make them feel sleepy, help them forget sad things, give them nice dreams, help get rid of headaches etc etc. Much like tea functions for adults.

HydraWater · 11/06/2022 16:22

Give them a load of clothes pegs. Ask them to make a train by attaching one to the next and so on. Then bring it for a walk, the train, snake whatever...

I remember serving my then 3 year old my favourite pudding, and how he told MIL that mummy had invented something really yummy. Rhubarb and custard!

We had "magic cream" that operated in a similar way. It was really sudocrem in one of the little black cases that used to have a 35mm camera film in. It healed anything.
It was also magic because it never ran out. Grin
