Would I get a replacement Clarks

purpleme12 · 11/06/2022 08:18

These shoes were bought less than 3 months ago
I have the receipt.
Now the top bit at the front is coming off if you can see.
Would they give me a replacement for this without me paying?

Would I get a replacement Clarks

Take them back you have nothing to lose..
I got replacement school shoes once ( not clarks ) they said 3 months was reasonable wear and tear.

WeAreTheHeroes · 11/06/2022 08:22

Difficult to say without seeing the all of them, but given the dirt on the insoles, they look as though they've been worn somewhere wet and mucky?

You'll be saying they should be more robust or are faulty, they'll be saying they've been heavily worn. What does the description state as that will give you a guide?

DidYaAye · 11/06/2022 08:24

They bloody well should do
Where are Clark shoes made? (just out of interest)

Yes, Clark’s are quite good for that.

purpleme12 · 11/06/2022 08:26

Looking at the receipt it's not actually been 2 months

I think sandals are always going to get more dirty than shoes aren't they cos they're not covered

They should do- I’ve taken skechers back with the receipt after 4 months and they’ve instantly swapped them/given me store credit.

LIZS · 11/06/2022 09:07

Doubt they will replace but worth a try. Does she use a scooter or bike?

Annfr · 11/06/2022 09:13

Double checked this as couldn't remember the exact timeframe.

Gov says: You must repair or replace an item if a customer returns it within 6 months - unless you can prove it was not faulty when they bought it. You can ask a customer to prove an item was faulty when they bought it if they ask for a repair or replacement after 6 months.

SheWoreYellow · 11/06/2022 09:14

I’d say no as it looks like it’s been caused by scuffing, eg while scootering.

purpleme12 · 11/06/2022 09:14

Oh mixed replies 😟
Thought this shouldn't happen after almost 2 months!!

OP posts:
purpleme12 · 11/06/2022 09:15

I don't believe in all the times we've had Clarks shoes they've done this so soon

WhatTheWhoTheWhatThe · 11/06/2022 09:18

To be honest they look like they’ve taken a battering more than anything. I’m not sure would take them back and hope for a refund given the state of the rest of them as it just looks like excessive wear and tear to me

I don't think she's scootered in these shoes actually

OP posts:
purpleme12 · 11/06/2022 09:19

Gosh how much do other people wear their shoes then if this is excessive wear and tear?!?

OP posts:
WhatTheWhoTheWhatThe · 11/06/2022 09:22

Really depends what they’re doing in them when they’re wearing them rather than how much they wear them 🤷‍♀️ They’re just sandals so not going to be suitable for all every activity.

purpleme12 · 11/06/2022 09:23

Just everyday life!!!

OP posts:
LadyOfTheCanyon · 11/06/2022 09:30

Of course they should last longer than two months! That said, to get that battered it does look like you've worn them every day for those two months.

It really is worth investing in leather cream for shoes to keep them supple and wipe down the insides regularly. It pays dividends in the long run.

purpleme12 · 11/06/2022 09:31

No she hasn't worn them every day she's been at school most days.
On the colder days she's worn her trainers not these

OP posts:
SheWoreYellow · 11/06/2022 09:59

If you think it looks like the fabric has come away, rather than being scuffed, then it might be worth a go. Clean them a bit first.
Once they were at school we mostly had cheap shoes for out of school as they wear them so little, especially sandals as you can see that they are not too small, so if you need to replace them, a cheaper option would be fine.

purpleme12 · 11/06/2022 10:06

She wears school shoes most of the days simply because she's at school but I wouldn't say she wears her sandals such little time. When the weather's warmer she wears her sandals a lot out of school.
I have got the cheaper shoes in the past and they've been false economy because they've worn really really quickly whereas Clarks shoes last us at least 6 months (normally do)
And also the fit on the cheaper shoes is awful on her

OP posts:
CornedBeef451 · 11/06/2022 10:12

It's worth a try but give them a clean first.

purpleme12 · 12/06/2022 17:02

Update: they are going to exchange them for a new pair as they shouldn't be like this so soon

OP posts:
Glittertwins · 12/06/2022 17:07

Good news OP.
They exchanged DD's school shoes as she tripped / pushed and the whole sole ripped away - that should not have happened.
