Is non stop crying a sign baby is unwell?

So my daughter is usually so placid. No tears really ever. She's 4 months.

She hasn't stopped screaming for 1 hour now. Very unlike her. I've tried everything Sad warm bath, nappy free time, checked it's not her teeth, it doesn't seem to be, she doesn't seem to have belly ache. Not raising legs upwards or anything

However she's no temp. So can it still be a sign she's unwell? I've read it can be a sign a baby is unwell but she has no temp

I’m so sorry you’re going through this OP. Hope she’s on the mend really soon. How scary.

Hope she’s doing ok and glad it showed itself quickly to get her help

Oh goodness, what an awful time you're having 😢 Really hope they operate quickly and she's on the mend soon. Well done for listening to your gut 💐

Oh you poor things.

When I read your OP, I wondered if it was a twisted bowel or obstruction.

The reason I thought that was because my son did something similar at the same age, wizzed him up to A&E, whilst the nurses witnessed the initial hysteria he then calmed down.

When I asked them what it possibly could have been (he was a very colicky and refluxy baby but this was Something Else), they did say with acute crying like that it can be a twisted bowel that untwists.

I've had three children and never experienced crying like that before.

Im also a paediatric nurse and the only other time I heard crying like that was doing during a spinal for a wide awake 3 day old baby.

I really hope things go smoothly for you and your daughter as things move forward.
