When to burst this blister? [no picture]

I have stupidly intolerant feet, yesterday I wore marginally tight shoes, and now have a blister the size of my little toe, on my little toe.

It looks okay, clean, clear liquid inside. But big and painful.

I can currently only just hobble around in trainers - shoes are a no go.

When would you 'intervene'.

Sporners need not apply, I know your answer would be "RIGHT NOW AND VIDEO IT"... but I am squeamish as all living heck!

Get the special blister plasters and put one on and then leave it alone.

Literally never

Never. Get a Compeed plaster on it and leave it alone.

Oh good, that's the advice I was hoping for.

I won't use Compeed as it'll stick too much to the delicate skin... but I'll pop a bit of Germaline and a loose sock on it.

Leave it, the longer you leave it alone the quicker it will heal

I've got a work event starting on Sunday - flying to a hot country, and on my feet 13 hours a day... if I get to that stage, should I burst it then?

Seriously put a Compeed plaster on it. It's a dressing designed to help blisters heal as well as protect the skin underneath.

Don't worry about the skin being too delicate, the skin over the top of the blister is dead and has to go eventually anyway. Compeed is a proper hydrocolloid dressing with extra padding to protect your foot, it helps the healing process and by the time it falls off all the healing has taken place underneath.

Definitely Compeed. You're also meant to wear it until it falls off naturally (which it should do after a oouple of days) so don't worry about it "sticking".
