I saw it on Broadway before the pandemic and it was wonderful. It’s the same production with a new cast. Book, go, enjoy

FinallyFluid · 06/06/2022 13:50

Anyone please ?

Saw it a few weeks ago and loved it. Very stressful and sad though even though most of the audience likely already knew the outcome

Booked couldn't get our wedding anniversary weekend in August so now going in September.

My copy of to Kill a Mockingbird is falling apart, it and I have been together longer than DH and I

I can thoroughly recommend the audio book read by Sissy Spacek too (if you're not mockingbirded out that is!)

FinallyFluid · 06/06/2022 15:14

We saw Straight Line Crazy on Saturday I thoroughly enjoyed it.

We are going in 3 weeks, looks like a great cast. DS booked them November 2019. Reviews have been really good. Been to London theatres a lot, but don’t think we’ve ever been to this one.

FinallyFluid · 06/06/2022 23:32

So I have booked To Kill a Mocking Bird and Come From Away, so that is August and September taken care of.....Grin

Waiting for the reviews on the Southbury Child and I may squeeze another one in in July. GrinGrin

May have to promise DH lunch at Browns on Butlers Wharf at his favourite table.

Did you se Jeff Daniels in it? If I could have got tickets when I looked, I might very well have booked the theatre tickets first and then the flights to get there. 😆

Have tickets for London on 18th June, can’t wait.

Yep, saw Mockingbird a few weeks back. It was brilliant. Very well acted, some comedy at times and it's very easy to believe they are kids. Scenery changes are good as well.

Also, Come From Away is another excellent show. (We booked a box as it was a cheap a two seats but more space.) Seen it three times now.

Was Raff (?) Spall any good? Have to say wasn't too impressed when I saw that he had been cast ..

Couldn't sleep last night so I downloaded it and drifted off nicely, Sissy Spacek is just perfect for it.

So thank you for that.

You're welcome - yes she sounds just like I imagine Scout to sound

FinallyFluid · 08/06/2022 11:52

Forgot to mention, such in my love for the book that our border collie is called Scout. Grin

We’ve booked the Ivy for lunch as it’s close by. We also have a border collie, small world. We are driving, we live in Surrey so it’s not far and parking nearby, along with congestion charge, it’s going to be an expensive day out, but between the 3 of us, it will be worth it.

Yes! And it was incredible, best theatre I've ever seen. I am a lifelong devotee of TKAM though, it's my favourite novel.

Mindymomo · 23/06/2022 07:41

Well we went yesterday, we all thought the play and cast was fantastic, probably the best play we’ve seen. Theatre is great but seat backs very uncomfortable, it was a very hot day but theatre seems to have cool air circulation which was very welcome. Unfortunately we took the car and the journey there and back was awful. Lunch at The Ivy was a nice treat as well. My son paid for theatre, we paid for lunch, parking a congestion charge, not a cheap day out, but lovely to see London with so many people.

Mimilamore · 23/06/2022 14:43

I did back in May and really enjoyed it

Pr1nc3ssP3rdy · 16/07/2022 19:13

Just saw it today and was blown away. I've never cried that much at a piece of theatre. So moving.

Thelikelylass · 16/07/2022 19:52

Yes and found it dull as dish water.
