Positive stories/tips for teen with anxiety

So DD has been suffering from anxiety badly this school year. Lockdown hit her hard, we had several exciting things cancelled and we can’t rebook. We lost someone close to us. Then there was an incident in school at the start of the year that really set her off.
Since then her attendance has slowly dwindled. When she is in she goes to few lessons. Anything negative in lessons sets her off as does excessive noise or bad behaviour. We did have days where she literally sobbed and sobbed for hours. This has improved and she can have several good days in her moods before she has a bit of a crash.
At the moment I can just about get her into school every day but it’s for minimal time - maybe one or two hours.
We are seeing CAHMS and that has helped but I am desperate to get her in for longer days and into more lessons.
Her main explanation for not going in is she is scared all the time. She really enjoyed year 7 and the small groups with friends.

Homeschooling isn’t an option, she needs to be around others and she has lovely school friends. I struggle to get her to leave the house on non school days unless she wants to but I would say she enjoys herself more now than she was 6 months ago. She has improved in herself but not in terms of school.

School have been great and are low pressure at the moment. I’m sure it won’t continue though. They are trying to get more mental health support into school.

Im looking for stories of success and things that have worked. I’m finding the daily battle of getting her in hard, I’m totally exhausted from it. I lost my job because I can’t get into work at all. We are okay financially but I hate being stuck at home. I’m dreading tomorrow morning.

thanks

I have 2 DC with an anxiety diagnosis both have noise sensitivity conditions too

DC1 needed an EHCP medication and schooling from home at an Internet school

DC2 has been able to stay at the original school, doesn’t take formal medication yet but finds CBD very effective, school have actually been really helpful with reduced timetable in sixth form

Both DC have adjustments during exams, both currently doing A level exams at the moment .

There are all sorts of ways your dc can be supported by the school even without an EHCP but in my experience you have to be proactive and stand your ground.

Don’t be afraid to make suggestions to the school, mine have some quite unique arrangements which would identify them on here but can be agreed with exam boards if suggested because ultimately access arrangements are to level the playing field for that child

I think school are open to suggestions, I’m just a little out of ideas of what to suggest. Ultimately what DD wants is to be in a small class with quiet kids, but they won’t do that. Which is sad as there are a few kids I know who would benefit.
The support room she goes to is difficult as they have to work quietly and she finds it a bit oppressive, she needs more interaction in that.
she has free reign to go there when she likes though.

She has always been on the quiet/sensitive side but what’s happened in the last 2 years hasn’t helped. Sadly me being able to earn money means I could do more things with her which she would enjoy. But I am totally stuck.

Bumping for traffic. Half term has made things much worse and we’ve managed 2 hours this week.
im going demented as she is so upset and clingy. I have no time to myself and can’t make any plans as I have no idea when she will go into school.
