If you hang clothes on hangers on your washing line?

How do you stop the hangers from blowing off the line on a windy day?
I know I can peg the clothes onto the hanger but how do I keep the hanger on the line? As I’m down to one hand for the next few months It would make life so much easier if I could figure this out!

I peg the hanger onto the line or sandwich the hook of the hanger between two pegs.

I dry all my clothes like this that will end up on a hanger in the wardrobe anyway.

I peg the hook of the hanger onto line or wedge it in between two pegs that are clipped on to be static and can't slide up and down 🤷🏽‍♀️

Secure the coat hanger's metal hook to the line with a couple of pegs - always works for me.

Yes, and if it suddenly starts to rain you can bring everything in far more quickly than unpegging things.

We have two packs of theseHanger Hooks from Lakeland which work brilliantly. All the kids school shirts go outside on them for a good sun bleaching

I use hangers that you get with clothes when you buy them. Dh has bent the metal hooks so they just fit over the line but don’t easily come off if it’s too breezy.

These. You can leave them on the washing line.

Once you've hooked the clothes hanger through the little hole, put a clothes peg on each shoulder to keep the garment on the clothes hanger.

I’ve seen something similar on Amazon, just wasn’t sure if they actually did work!

I hang my clothes to dry overnight in my house on hangers from the door frames. It's summer they dry quickly. No blowing off the line then.

Yep they’re what I was looking at, I’ll order them and see how I get on 😃

Nothing. Never had any blow off.

This was one of my first thoughts, that maybe I could get dh to kind of bend the hook into a loop, but then I was thinking I wouldn’t be able to hang them straight into the wardrobe when they are dry.

ah not sure I would be so lucky! unfortunately my garden is like a wind tunnel at times, not well sheltered!

I've used the Lakeland hanger hooks for years, they're brilliant. Very occasionally, if the wind is very strong, a hanger does blow off the line but it really is only occasionally.
