Have You Had Or Would You Consider Plastic Surgery?

When I was younger I was pretty much completely against it, apart from if people were really struggling psychologically & wanted to take action to change that eg nosejobs etc. But now I’m in my 50s, my views are changing. Still wouldn’t go for anything radical but I might consider tweaks like having my under eye bags done, chin lift, brows etc.

Yup. Had 3 procedures. Changed my life.

carefullycourageous · 01/06/2022 01:11

No, I am happy to be the way I am.

YetAnotherNameChange111 · 01/06/2022 03:31

Would love to have a chin lift. Has anyone had one and is happy with it?

Chocaholic9 · 01/06/2022 04:30

Nope. People who have it mostly look worse than they did before. It's not plastic surgery, but those lip fillers are awful and make women look like a fish.

MermaidSwimming · 01/06/2022 08:07

If I could afford a tummy tuck I would

HotChoc10 · 01/06/2022 08:08

I had botox for the first time recently and am happy with the result. I would definitely consider something to get rid my double chin, especially if it goes jowl-y as I get older. I'm fairly slim but can't seem to shake it.

MyNameIsAngelicaSchuyler · 01/06/2022 08:12

I’m considering Botox (am 42, good skin but a couple of forehead lines that I don’t like). I’d love a nose job but am far too scared. I like my body so wouldn’t make any changes there.

StickyFingeredWeeNed · 01/06/2022 08:24

I had some very minor alterations to my face 20 years ago, so subtle not even my parents noticed - but I’m happy with the work.

had a tummy tuck which was botched, I nearly died and it looks dreadful.

JanisMoplin · 01/06/2022 08:31

I have days when I have fleeting thoughts of having a tummy tuck. Am not overweight but I carry all my weight in my mid section, and it is pretty unsightly. But then I think about how I am healthy now, and I might not be so healthy with one.

balalake · 01/06/2022 08:34

Only in the case of accident or illness/disease, not otherwise.

JustFrustrated · 01/06/2022 08:37

Yep, have had it.

Life changing.

Spent 15 years hating my body, took the plunge and now.... Yeah feel good about myself.

Spent a year researching which clinic, did everything by the letter in terms of clinical advice and amazing results.

Unless you know me, you wouldn't know I'd had the work done.

Petrarkanian · 01/06/2022 08:39

No, never.
My daughter had an anaesthetic incident during an op when she was 4.

I would never have a general anaesthetic for cosmetic reasons.

SilverSplitsTheBlue · 01/06/2022 08:41

I would love a breast reduction.

emmathedilemma · 01/06/2022 08:44

No, surgery for medical reasons is bad enough, I’ve no idea why you’d put yourself through that voluntarily. Maybe my views are skewed as I have long term nerve damage as a result of facial surgery (medical) so there’s no way anyone is going near me with a scalpel unless it’s necessary!

Justkeeppedaling · 01/06/2022 08:44

I always thought it was ridiculous, but I'm 60 now and if I could afford a neck/under chin lift/tuck I'd have it done in a shot.

JustFrustrated · 01/06/2022 08:45

To everyone saying they'd love to but can't afford it.

I'd recommend looking at Lithuania and Belgium clinics.

They're some of the best rated in the world, and you're more likely to get a plastic surgeon with other specialisms e.g. wound care specialist

indoorplantqueen · 01/06/2022 08:49

No, because I think there's so much more non surgical treatment which give excellent results. For mini facelifts check out PDO threads.

JanisMoplin · 01/06/2022 08:55

Luckily DH is 4 years older and wearing even worse than I am, so we will just look like bloodhounds together with our saggy jowls and eye bags.

SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows · 01/06/2022 09:17

I must admit, it can be awful when it’s overdone. A customer came to my till the other day & I had to try really hard not to stare. Her face looked liked carved plastic; just terrible. Ridiculously sticking out cheekbones & that famous “ trout pout”, plus she had very obvious fake tan & the stiffest false eyelashes I had ever seen. I wanted to ask her what on earth she was thinking!

Yes, nose job, and I love it. As I got older, I felt the big nose was making me look witch-like.

I’ll consider anti-aging procedures in years to come, too.

(Also, I had tooth extraction with braces as a teenager - purely for cosmetic reasons - but that never seems to count).

I have spent so many hours googling eye lift !! Am seriously considering it …my eye lids are so heavy..even optician has recommended it !! She said she would refer me for NHS care !!

Do it. Best thing I ever did. Can recommend my surgeon 100% (mine were done on the NHS - there's a limit for how much your lids are drooping, I just made the requirements)

I wasn't frowning in the first pic - it's just how hooded my lids were. Looked great when I was in my teens but so ageing by the time I was 30+
