Food after molar extraction

Hi looking for some advice. Got my top molar remove at 4pm today. My dentist said nothing hot or fizzy for a few days, nothing bitty like rice, regular painkillers and ice pack if required. I'm just looking for ideas for something to eat as I'm starving now? It wasn't a planned extraction so didn't get a chance to stock up on any different foods as such. Any advice would very welcome food or medical wise! I'm feeling very sorry for myself 😭

Oh I feel your pain 😮‍💨 When I had mine out I was so worried about eating and getting something stuck in the hole, I ended up just eating soup, mashed potato and yoghurt for a week. Just anything I didn’t need to chew at all. It does heal pretty quickly, which is good, but those first few days aren’t pleasant.
Rinse with warm salt water after eating and at least three times a day, but don’t swish it around your mouth. I just kind of let it sit in the area for a while. Last thing you want is to lose the clot. Hope you’re feeling better soon!

Some people recover really quickly but for others it takes ages. I've had two wisdom teeth removed - the first one was horrendous. I had lots of pain and bruising and ended up taking two days off work after the extraction as I could barely open my mouth without dribbling (not a good look when you work in customer facing retail 🤣)

The second was much better and I was back to work the following day with no issues whatsoever. Both times I just had soft food - mashed potatoes, soup - even things like sandwiches were fine as long as I chewed on my "good" side.

Lots of painkillers (I alternated ibuprofen and paracetamol) and rest and you'll be fine!

I really want something fizzy but am I right in understanding that I shouldn't? How long for?

I'd resist for a few days as it can dislodge the clot and you don't want dry socket, I believe its very painful. Afraid its 7 days with me now and still needed painkillers in the middle of the night so I could get back to sleep but far fewer than I did, only one twice in last 24 hours. Must say considering it didn't hurt before I'm surprised how painful it's been after but gum is pretty much healed up so I'd say fizzzy drinks should be alright after a week.
