Hi.. Planning another independence step for ds2 who's almost 25. He lives in Kent. I'm in Suffolk.
He's travelled on the tube from Stratford to Waterloo and back in the past.
What I want to do in the summer is have him come into St Pancras, I'm going to come into Liverpool Street. I want to meet him somewhere which means he has to change lines to find me. Somewhere with not to many entrances and exits. The trouble is St Pancras goes to lots of places.
I've promised him a trip to the Transport Museum afterwards. Help and advice gratefully received!

If he came in to Victoria, he could go Victoria line to green park and change for Piccadilly line to Covent Garden.

If you are looking for a simple change, you can switch between the Victoria line and Bakerloo line at Oxford Circus by going straight across the platform. You need to be changing from North to North or South to South to work. He could go from Victoria to Oxford Circus and change to the Bakerloo for Regents Park, which is a relatively small station. It would be fairly easy for the transport museum afterwards.

Yes, I was going to say Victoria and bakerloo line interchange at ox circus is just crossing the platform (as long as continuing in same general direction I.e. northbound Victoria to northbound Bakerloo)

That was going to be my suggestion too.

(You can do the same the other way as KingsX/StP is also on the Victoria Line)

Thankyou all for your suggestions... Now waiting for my holidays in the summer to put it into practice!

Another vote for citimapper app. It gives step by step where to go and even suggests which part of the train to aim for for ease of changes.
It tells you exactly when the next trains are coming so if you miss one you know how long the wait will be.
If there are delays or cancellations it will take that into account

I would maybe avoid Covent Garden station if he struggles with crowds. I really dislike it! Crowded with the only exits via lifts (or spiral staircase). Leicester Square is better.

Sorry not much advice on the changing trains!

I've found Citymapper to be a total gamechanger, in that it makes it so easy to use buses. I have an autistic adult son who strongly dislikes the tube (the smells, noise, screech of brakes) but we can now travel on buses instead and track exactly where we are going. He's younger and doesn't need to go to London on his own at the moment but we are also practising independence skills.
