Falling out of love with your interests?

Does anyone else feel a little sad when they lose interest in a hobby or "thing"they previously loved? In my case it's a band but it's happened over the decades with a few things.

I'm autistic so I tend to go all in on my interests and when my passion for them dies, I feel a little sad. I have other interests to keep me busy, but I still feel a little sad as I was heavily involved with the community for years.

Does anyone else feel similar?

Yes. I strongly suspect I am on the spectrum. I feel like I just hit capacity really.

Oh yes, I think this is common, whether you are on the spectrum or not.

I have very obsessive but fleeting interests but I've found they come back around, so I'm okay with letting them go. It's been knitting, writing, singing, painting, work, ... oh the list goes on! And yes, music I can come back around to also. So I don't feel sad I just do something else for a bit :)

Definitely would have got a diagnosis of autism and ADHD on the criteria as it is today, but I've never gone for diagnosis.
