Gallbladder surgery tips?

So I have my date through it's 2 weeks today, it should be day surgery and keyhole, though that depends (have heart condition) does anyone have any tips from having their gallbladder out? Have 2 little children (11 months and 3 years) so not the easiest time to be having surgery! Thanks

My children were slightly older. If you have a supportive family you will be fine.

I had a stone stuck for two weeks before.my in laws and husband was great at sorting out the children so I could recover properly.

Thank you everyone! The attacks have been horrible also had a infection too! I am already planning a week at my mums for her to help!

Do you think 2 weeks off work is enough? I work in retail, so on my feet and lifting heavy stuff!

Two weeks after my op I hired a carpet cleaner and cleaned all the carpets in our house!

Had mine out yesterday (emergency). Echo peppermint tea and move. Was discharged yesterday evening with loads of pain relief. Keyhole surgery but have staples that will need to be removed at doctors surgery. Agree with others pain after nothing like the pain before. All the best OP💐

I was in, done & out in 6 hours, I did go NHS Choose & Book to my local private hospital. Get some Arnica tablets for the bruising as you will be very bruised around your belly button where they put the largest port in, I also had some Rennie Deflatine for the pain from the gas they pump inside you so that they can see everything. You will be sore & need painkillers for a few days, I drove the day after & spent a full day out at an event 5 days after I had it done. Just be gentle on yourself, I could do most things but was careful not to carry anything heavy. I was discharged completely 7 days after having it done & could eat what I wanted.
