A mundane question about starting a new job

I have been working part time and recently handed in my notice to start a new job (only 1 weeks notice required. My last shift was last weekend, though my "last day" was Wednesday as that's when my weeks notice ended. I started a new job today and told payroll that was now my only job. My old job have asked if I would mind doing one last final shift (cover someone off due to injury) but now that means my two jobs over lap by half a week. Do I need to notify pay roll again ASAP or is it not really a massive deal in the grand scheme of things?

I'm not sure if I'm over thinking this as I've already put in my hours for this week (at pay rolls request so that my first payment isn't delayed due to the jubilee )

If its relevant, I have terrible anxiety and a tendancy to over think. I'm worried I have accidently lied on the form

I'm not really sure why they need to know that so I'd just contact them to say something like... oh by the way I ended up doing an extra shift on X day. I'm not sure if you need to use that date instead of the date I gave you.

Then they can work it out.

I thinks it's to do with tax codes. There were 3 options to chose from and I ticked the one that says 'I have had another job since April, but this is now my only job' (or words to that effect)

I'd inform because the new job will be a second employer just for that shift, thus need to pay tax at basic rate. After that they become your only employer.

It may be tempting not to declare it but the tax system will sort it out and you could end to having to pay some money back at a bad time!
