Centerparcs with 3 children who want to share a room?

Hi, DH and I want to take DD (10) and her two twin cousins (11) to centerparcs.

Weve took DD and a friend years ago in a 2 bed lodge which worked out fine because we 2 adults shared the double bed and the 2 children shared the room with 2 single beds.

However with 2 adults and 3 children who want to share together I don’t know how to work it. (On sleepovers at our house they share a king size air bed)

Option 1. Get 3 bed lodge - but will mean 2 children sleep in 1 room and one alone which they won’t like.

Option 2. Get 2 bed lodge and pay for an extra day guest each day. Adults share double bed room. In second room, push the two singles together and children can share 1 big bed (I’m worried about the one in the middle. It might not be comfortable).

Option 3. Get 2 bed lodge, pay for extra guest day rate. Children share double bed, adults get a single bed each.

I can’t remember how big the rooms are if we could squeeze an air bed on the floor. I seem to remember there isn’t much floor space.

H other suggestion is the girls all sleep in the living room which I don’t think would work.

How do families with 3 kids that want to share normally manage it?

Get two to top and tail in a single or I would go for option 3.

If you want 5 people overnight then you need a 3 bed lodge.
Whether the children split themselves over 2 rooms or bunk in together doesn't really matter, it is the number per villa which counts.
So no, none of your options to pay for accommodation for four and then sneak another child in are appropriate.

Center Parcs aren’t allowing day guests at the moment (stopped because of Covid) and there is no word as to when or if they will bring this back.

Center Parcs rooms are configured so just 2 can sleep in there. If I remember correctly, the singles in the twin room have a fixed table between them and cannot be pushed together either so option 2 is not possible

They will not allow her to stay if you've paid for 2 bed and booked her as a day guest (unless your intentions are to use the day guest to get her in and then not disclose that she has not left). Also check whether day guests are still an option as they stopped them during covid.

The only legitimate option is booking a 3 bed but I guess you could consider option 3 if day guests are allowed and you bend the truth

Can't the kids all share the double bed? You'd still need to get a 3 bed lodge though.

Push 2 singles together and tell them to sleep sideways on the bed like my fabulous diagram, that way they won't fall down the middle.

You can move the table, we do this and push the beds together to make more room for the wooden cot they provide for DD (note - I'm not adding a third person to the room - we pay for 2 bedrooms because it's not a bloody holiday if I have to share a room with her!)

There is no option but to have a three bed as day guests are still not admitted (and I don’t expect they’ll return).

Irisalexi · 26/05/2022 21:19

CP aren't doing day guests ATM so you would need a 3 bed..I think you could probably fit one of the single mattresses on the floor of the double bedroom so they could share that. Would mean you sleeping in single beds though?!

KarrotKake · 26/05/2022 21:19

You need a 3 bed lodge. You cant have 5 people overnight in a 2 bed lodge.
How you distribute the kids after that is your call. Personally, I think you need the kids in the double, and you and DH have the singles (pushed together if you want), or a room each!

Kfjsjdbd · 26/05/2022 21:20

There would definitely be enough space for a single air bed in a room with two singles as well (if you push the two singles together). We just came back and had a large travel cot in the room without moving the two single beds.

Or actually this would work....then you could still have a double bed!

Thanks looks like there’s options.

I didn’t realise guests had been cancelled. Wasn’t trying to do anything sneaky by having guests as I had only half remembered it as an option. I was just thinking about how many rooms we would actually use, didn’t realise it was based on people.

We’ll get a 3 bed, stick the kids sidewards with beds pushed together (genius!) or with single air mattress.
Spare room can be kit room.

(Although the idea of kids having the double and adults having a single each is also genius!)
