I haven’t had one since before Christmas.

@CannotCopia I get those carrots too!
@Shekissedagirlandshelikedit totally agree that things are on the slide.

I agree that Ocado should make it clear that they cycle Star Reviewer around or stop the scheme. It puts me off a little bit to think people got the item for free and I don't trust their reviews, so I'm not sure it works in promoting a brand.

I've been with Ocado for my main shop since they started (almost 20 years?). I used to get a lot of great free samples and the anniversary voucher/wine/chocs in the early days. I was a "Star Reviewer" about 6 years back for about 4 months and offered things now again during that time, never since. I have a weekly delivery, my adult kids like the vegan stuff and different grains (Tofoo, La boulangere vegan croissants, millett, barley couscous etc)and other companies have often let us down with those kind of things on delivery. I agree with others the veg is now miniscule. There are lots of out of stock/not delivered items, especially those on offer. Meat with a use by date of next day (but about 4 days use by on the receipt). I check my receipt like a hawk as there have been expensive but billed missing items and offers not given quite often in the past year.

I often try other supermarkets delivery, sometimes cancel my midweek Smart pass for a couple of months ( and never get a call about it/they don't seem bothered), tried physical shops in Aldi and Lidl ( but have moved too far from these now)with top ups of stuff they don't stock but return as Ocado have the no quibble on line refund system and they delivered to me all through the pandemic. I check other stores prices so shop very wisely and price sensitively to keep the ocado bill in line with what I would pay in Tesco/sainsburys etc and cook from scratch. So although my bill is large perhaps I don't buy enough high mark up goods to get favoured with "Star Reviewer"

It would be nice to get the "anniversary" gift/voucher again. Haven't had one for many years. I also think I'm too nice when there is a major cock up, or very late delivery due to break down/tech issues (been a lot of these lately). I usually say that I understand these things happen where as my friends say when they get a phone call about it from Customer services or phone up/email themselves they always make a big noise and get vouchers ( and they spend nowhere near as much or as often with Ocado). Sadly, loyalty these days and being chill/understanding of mistakes with companies gets you nowhere.

There are 5 adults in our house all WFH, often their mates round too - so we get a lot of food and spend around 10k+ a year with them. Where we live now ( compared to when we lived in London) there are lots of empty delivery slots. You would think they would want to keep us sweet with a few freebies/samples. Only ever get offered their silly Magazine.

My Star Reviewer came back for a month in November, then vanished again :( I was a good girl and sent in all my reviews too!

I just got my Ocadoversary voucher!
I had no idea when it was so wasn’t expecting it but evidently it’s still happening 🙂

Have Ocado stopped doing Star Reviewer?

@SapatSea

sometimes cancel my midweek Smart pass for a couple of months

just noticed you’d said this - looks like that will be why you’ve not had one?

@GiantKitten - Thanks, you are clever, I just hadn't thought of that. I only have a mid week pass and it says in the FAQ's that "We sometimes give out anniversary gifts so make sure you keep an eye on your inbox during your Ocado anniversary month (the month you joined)". It lists me as joining midweek Smartpass in January 2016 ( I had anytime smartpass before that) so guess no gift for me - I'm pretty certain I got a gift or voucher every year when I had the anytime pass.

Hope you enjoy your wine/chocolate!

Doyouthinktheyknow · 05/02/2023 17:44

I just got my voucher for wine or chocolate too! Have not had one for years, apparently I’ve been with Ocado 12 years!

Don’t love it anymore, gone off it since M&S and lots more out of stock but it is convenient. Never been offered star reviewer freebie’s but I’m so disorganised I’d forget to do the review anyway🤣

PriamFarrl · 05/02/2023 17:48

I’ve not had anything since before Christmas either.

Playplayaway · 15/09/2023 08:22

Has anyone had star reviewer lately? I age haven't had any for at least a year despite a weekly delivery and leaving regular reviews. I just wondered if they have stopped it?

Noideawhattowritehere · 15/09/2023 11:42

No, me neither, I had the one in February that I posted about above, then nothing. I carefully reviewed everything within 10 days of the delivery and leave other reviews as I find them so helpful.

But I do see on recent reviews 'I received this free from ocado' so I'm pretty sure they're still doing it.

changer2010 · 15/09/2023 12:31

I had one in August, nothing since.

SapatSea · 15/09/2023 14:56

Years since I've been a star reviewer or had an "anniversary" or birthday gift. They just suddenly stop giving you vouchers and never start again. I think I'm too loyal a customer to be given treats.

Ibizafun · 15/09/2023 15:52

I'm occasionally offered a "free gift" but never one I'd want. Ocado's gone right down and the icing on the cake is that the drivers still sulk about bringing the bags due to covidGrin

Good point - I used to switch Ocado out for Waitrose once every 7-8 weeks/deliveries for the stuff that they swore M&S would replicate but didn't. I stopped that about a year ago, so apart from the odd week missed for a holiday I must look too loyal to bother with to the algorithm that dishes out freebies and treats.

PriamFarrl · 15/09/2023 17:37

Oh. I meant to post. I had one, in fact I had a few. However it wasn’t emailed. They were in my coupons as 100% discount for Star Reviewer. Nothing reminding me to review it though.
I had washing pods, dishwashing tablets and some mayonnaise.

QualityCorner · 18/09/2023 06:56

I got an anniversary gift last week -£10 for wine or chocolate.

PriamFarrl · 20/09/2023 20:45

I got an email today telling me that my new star reviewer coupons are available.
