Dulux Timeless. Too creamy.

About to repaint hall, landing, stairs etc.
Got a tester for timeless. It is creamier than I'd expected, but I'm not sure if that is just the contrast with the existing paint.
Carpet is a slightly greyish neutral tone

Any thoughts?

'Timeless' seems to vary a lot with the light. We bought it for our kitchen, wanting a creamy colour, but found it too cold and not creamy at all, and ended up using it on the ceiling, where it's genuinely indistinguishable from the pure brilliant white that was there originally.

I know it's very popular but I'm not keen on it. Painted our kitchen and extension in it and it's ok but there is a definite yellowish tinge.

Have you tried Egyptian Cotton? It's my favourite neutral by a mile. Not white but not far off and has no yellow undertones..sometimes grayish and sometimes beigeish. I think it's a fab colour.

If you're after nore of a stark white though, try White Cotton (also Dulux).

I don’t find it too creamy in a dual aspect room. I thought white would be too stark but Timeless is virtually indistinguishable from the white ceiling - I could hardly focus after cutting in when painting it was that close a match.

Just had this exact problem - we went for Rock Salt in the end

Farrow & Ball Cornforth white for me or if you want to stick to dulux then rock salt
