Normal wear and tear or would I have a chance?

Dh bought me a pair of Sketchers for Christmas. They're slip on type, ie no way to loosen them before putting them on. The plastic inside the back has crumbled, obviously due to my heel pushing in and out of the shoe. Could I return them? I don't feel like 5 months of wear should have done this damage and they weren't cheap. Extra problem though, they were from Sports Direct.

My DH bought some Sketchers shoes from Sports Direct last year and they lasted a few months before the soles started to wear out. He does walk a lot but given the brand they should have lasted longer. I can’t see Sports Direct having a great return policy to be honest. If it was M&S I would say yes go for it.

You will probably be told that you should have been using a shoehorn with slip on shoes. You'll never know unless you ask though so it could be worth a shot.

Sports direct are crap with returns. If it was another company you might have a chance, but sports direct are likely to say it's not their problem.

In my experience Skechers don't last long at all. I've been wearing them years due to a foot problem and if I find a pair I like I immediately buy several more pairs since they wear out so quickly.

I suspected as much with sports direct. I never thought of a shoe horn though!!

I have a pair of the arch fit ( bloody expensive) that I bought before Christmas and they have also gone at the back inside heel

The plasticky bits that were now exposed started to dig in. I ended up sticking sometape in... But really shouldn't have to

I don’t know but you can try. My husband bought me a pair of Nike walking shoes for Xmas as I walk a lot. By April it had started falling apart so he contacted them and they asked for it to be returned. They paid the postage and refunded the full amount. I couldn’t believe it. I would have thrown it in the bin myself but amazing that after all the use I had out of it, they still gave the full amount back. So worth a try for you.
