DD and ghost

My 10 y/o DD is convinced she has a ghost attached to her. She says he (Simon) is in her room whether she is at home or at her dads and is coming into me at all hours numerous times every night.

She said he walks around her room mumbling, sits on her bed or the chair, and has drawn a picture of him To show me.

This has been going on about a month now and I just can't help her shake it. I've explained it's not real and she has a vivid imagination, and it's hard when she wakes up in the night to determine what is real or not.

I've slept with her in there, she's slept with me, and as she is adamant it's real I googled and did a sage and crystal type thing explained online to try and at least put her mind at rest. I've also told her to try and not talk about it as it's feeding the idea in her mind but it's getting worse not better, and after school today she had a real sob about it.

She is going on an overnight school trip this week and as she's adamant it's attached to her, she is scared it will go with her.

I'm out of options and she is so tired. What do I do?

I'd be taking her to see your G.P.

Definitely an urgent trip to your GP. These types of hallucinations can be caused by physical illness not just, as may be assumed, mental health issues. I’d really like her seen as soon as possible if I were you. Hope you get to the bottom of it OP.

I also suggest taking her to see a doctor for but in the meantime time you could try an angel prayer that she says at night. This might work, it might have a placebo effect (if nothing woo is going on) abs just make her feel more settled

Agree that she needs to see someone ASAP.

Hmm, this could be a medical issue OP.
It's really important you make her a GP appointment.

That doesn’t sound like a case of a vivid imagination, it sounds quite concerning. I think if she is seeing and hearing things that aren’t there, you really need to take her to see her GP.

Trip to the Drs tomorrow as a matter or urgency. All sorts of mild illnesses can cause hallucinations and paranoia, UTIs, flu…. Don’t go thinking she’s got a mental health problem.

Definitely take her to see the GP.
It could be related to physical or mental health problems.
When I was 9 I had symptoms such as intrusive thoughts telling me to kill myself. I told my dad & he dismissed it. Then I continued to have mental health problems all my life that made me quite unhappy until I got psychiatric help in my 30s.

Not saying your daughter is like me at all.
But if she is then getting help asap will be a good thing.
