Do teachers still have to “predict” grades for GCSE and ALevel?

…or ‘Centred Determined Grades’ are they are officially called.

just curious, did they have to do that this year despite the exams running as normal? What if a student can’t do an exam if they are ill or have covid? Didn’t they just get an estimated grade in those circumstances even before covid?

No, we haven't had to do this.

If a kid is ill and misses an exam, their grade will be calculated based on the papers/coursework that they do sit, so long as it makes up at least 25% of the total assessment.

Teachers haven't had to estimate grades for kids who miss exams for years now.
