Toothache but can't get in to any dentist!

Ive lived in this area now for 2 years this year and still haven't been able to join a dentist. I'm in excruciating pain! It's either I drive 3 hours back to my hometown in pain or I just sit here and wait forone of these dentists to call me from there waiting lists! Which could take months.

I'm 5 weeks postpartum I'm exhausted and to top it off I'm now in pain.

Any tips or tricks or anything will be appreciated. I can't believe this is even happening it use to be so easy to go to the dentist.

Is this the case with private dentists OP? Or is this NHS dentists you're contacting ?
If the latter, there is a massive workforce crisis in NHS dentistry. Most of the population are going to be forced to seek Private treatment going forward; the costs of which vary considerably.

Google emergency dentist in your area I think most areas have out of hours dentists available.

Definitely try the emergency dentist or if you aren’t bothered about paying then try the private dentist. I was in the same situation as you and had hit my front tooth and was worried it was going to fall out. The private dentist saw me the following day it was well worth the £60

Try calling 111, they should arrange an appointment for you. Its frigging ridiculous, no NHS dentist near me with space, will only see you if you are in agony.

To try to relieve the pain while you work out a dentist, make a strong salt rinse as hot as you can bear in your mouth and swoosh it over the problem tooth for a good 5 minutes. Repeat every 30 mins or so until the pain subsides. It draws the trapped pus to the surface.
