What reasons would you pull out of a house sale a week before it’s due to complete?

Yes, this is drip feeding, but I want to know if my reason come up a lot without putting words into your mouth.

for some context, we sold our house last September, moved out of it and have been renting from a acquaintance since February, due to get the keys next week.

What reason this close to the end would have you pulling out?

I’m a member of our estate’s Facebook group. The complaints on there make it sound like a high crime ghetto. It’s really a very nice place!
I think you get a distorted view from social media.

This is something also to consider.

There are two local estates that are very different in character. One tends to have more issues-for example at one point the buses wouldn't go there after 9pm due to risk, the other one is quiet and sleepy with very little crime recorded at all.
From time to time people looking to move into the area ask about the areas.
I've seem both areas described as crime hotspots, youth issues, vandalism rife, antisocial.... and both areas described as tranquil, no issues at all, real community spirit etc.

There's also an aspect of one person encouraging another on SM. So you read about how someone had a kid run into their house last week, and think "oh, that time I thought the wind had blown the door open, must have been a kid coming in..." and so you reply on social media assuming it was and someone else does the same.

Get a cover for the car and a lockable gate for the drive if it's just kids playing.
