Dentist question.

Hello, so today I completely forgot about my kids dental appointment (it was completely my fault, it just slipped my mind and I'd forgotten to set an alarm for it, I am in no way blaming the dentists). They called just after the appointment time and the lady I spoke to said, quite sternly (almost threateningly - maybe not her intentions but it's how it came across) that if they miss or cancel another appointment there are certain protocols they need to follow. She did not go into any more detail and I can't find anything on the website. So, I'm just wondering if anyone knows what these protocols might be??

For reference dd's are 3 & 5.
This appointment I genuinely forgot, filled the COVID screening form yesterday and then completely forgot today. The previous appointment the dentist cancelled because our dentist was sick. And the appointment before was cancelled because both dd's were sick - suspected COVID.

I'm just worried that if one of dd are sick for the next appointment or something and we have to cancel that we will be blacklisted or charged an extortionate fee.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, I couldn't find a dentist section.
Tia x

Getting a good dentist or any dentist is like finding hens teeth, I'd probably send them a note apologising, these things happen

Our dentist if you miss two appointments in a row, they drop you from their current patient list. So then you have to find a new dentist which is near impossible in my area.

The consequence will be you will be dropped from their list, and then have to spend 12+ months getting onto the list of another dentist.

Why not just ring the dentist and ask?????????????????

She might mean safeguarding procedures. In the practice I work in repeated failed/cancelled appointments for children means we need to raise a concern, even if its always for a legitimate reason. I think 3 missed appointments is our policy.
