How much pocket money for 14yo

How much pocket money does your 14yo get, what do they have to pay for themselves and what do they have to do for it (if anything)?

My 14yo ds gets £3.50 per week, only has to buy random stuff he wants, but I buy all essential stuff, pay phone etc. He has ASD and doesn't go out alone ever so doesn't need money for doing stuff with friends (sadly), so I pay whenever we do go out to do anything.
He doest have to do anything to get it (specific rewards for specific tasks tend to lead to mega meltdowns).
But I think he's of an age now when he should probably be getting more. So interested in what others do.

@StoppinBy simply just to give him something that he has to be responsible for. I'd make him buy his own moisturiser too but we usually get that free

In year 7 my ds got £25 a month paid by standing order into his bank account. At the start of each school year I increase it by £5. I pay for his phone and clothes and put £10 a month on his school dinner card. He pretty much saves all of it and puts it towards big purchases, we went halves on a gaming pc last year.

£10p/m on dinner card?

12 £25 on the first of the month. It’s his spending money on extras - I pay for clothes, footwear, toiletries and his phone. So far in the last month he took his card on a day trip with his club and to the cinema with a friend. That reminds me i need to set up his app!

I wish I could only put £10 on his dinner card! More like £80 here!!!!

Maybe it’s for treats? My son takes his lunch into school, but he’s told me he sometimes uses his money to buy a snack or a drink if he sees something he really wants.

Thank you for all the replies. It's interesting the range.

I don't pay him less because he doesn't go out, it just hasn't before occurred that I should up it drastically because he hasn't had a particular need for more. I think if he was regularly going out with friends it would have become more apparent that he needs more now he's older.
He has recently got into fitness and bought himself a (safe) supplement which was quite pricey and this prompted me to think about it.

I couldn't give him enough to cover clothes and expect him to deal with that level of responsibility - he is definitely not ready. But I have decided to up it to £6 per week.

Thanks all.

My DD (11) gets £60 pm, her SIM card paid for and a base level of shoes/clothes and toiletries. She recently splashed out £30 on some skincare stuff and £45 on some converse (she has 4 pairs of non school shoes that fit, are suitable and in good condition so I would not buy any further).

She spends about £10/£15 a month to go with friends to Starbucks/mini golf/bowling. And generally saves the rest for bigger purchases like above. She has £200 saved in her account from her allowance/birthday money/Eid money.

Each family will give differently depending on their financial situation or number of children (my DD is an only child, if she had a sibling she would not be able to have so much)
