Half my tooth just fell out… now what?

No NHS dentist will see me and I doubt I can afford a private dentist. I’ve booked in with a private dentist for an assessment, £70 gone already before having any treatment at all…!!

if I can’t afford to have the required work done, what do I do next? “Cast Away” it myself or something?

I can’t remember exactly. It was a root canal on front tooth, then it was built up rather than a crown (I’m sure this has a proper name) and then similar build up on the tooth next to it as it chipped. I also had a hygienist app included but I think it was about £1500. It was over 12 months too looking at bank statements not 6. Still a lot of money I know but wasn’t sure if the payment plan was an option you had considered / was an option for you.

Doesn't sound like it's an emergency if you're not in pain. My crappy molars are heavily filled and twice in the last 18 months I've had a whole side break off. Was fine on each occasion to wait a few weeks until my dentist could see me. However both teeth needed to be crowned - £800 each I'm afraid.

It's criminal that extraction is the only option if you can't afford expensive treatment. Hope you manage to sort something out soon Flowers

@Bickles you said temporary filling but not permanent filling? If I have a temporary one won’t I just have the same problem when the filling falls out? I’m wondering if she will just fill the sharp bit off and leave it, it’s not hurting me it’s just annoying!

Can’t believe I might have to opt for it being taken out instead of saved, because that’s all I can afford.

I broke a molar a while back. My dentist put in a temporary blob of something that hardened--covered it nicely for quite a while till I had an inlay made (bit like a crown).
I have Denplan though, worth every penny for me because I have awful teeth.
