Rash on neck - any ideas?!

For a couple of months now I've had a persistent rash on my neck in the form of small spots/whiteheads and it's driving me insane. My face is pretty clear at the moment, on the plus side.

It's in quite a specific place, down the sides of my neck/under the side of my jaw - not at the back or at the front.

I'm allergic to a few ingredients so don't knowingly use anything with those in - Balsam of Peru, nickel, PPD and abitol. I only use Fairy non-bio and also avoid coconut oil as I think (but don't know) that that's an irritant.

So if we work on the basis that I'm not using any products containing any of my known allergens, what the hell else could it be?? It's not itchy at all. Benadryl seems to be helping about but hard to say. I change my.pillowcase regularly and wash the actual pillow. I don't use any perfume. I feel like if it was a hair product (and I don't use many) then I'd have it at the back of my neck too or even on my face from showering/sleeping. We don't have pets. What the hell else am I missing??!

Also I haven't worn jewellery in my ears or on my neck for a couple of weeks now, and that doesn't seem to have made a difference (I just wear solid gold or silver hoops normally).

Doctors are trained in this sort of thing, you know? Mumsnet readers are mostly not.

Thanks so much for your condescension @nozbottheblue! Do you recommend doctors on every thread like this? You're doing God's work there.

Not that I owe you a justification for a fecking post on MN (literally a chat forum for people to discuss pretty.much anything, for the avoidance of doubt) but I did go to my GP the last time I had something similar, and they weren't much use. Eventually I ended up at a private derm and that's how I eventually got standard and cosmetic patch testing. So now I know my allergens but that's not to say that a) I've managed to catch them all in all my products/the things I'm exposed to or that b) my skin hasn't changed in the last couple of years. Also, I don't currently have a lot of spare time/childcare to go to the GP, but I did have the 5 mins it took to type a post on MN whilst waiting to collect my kids from school. So forgive me, in my frustration, my attempt to crowdsource a bit of advice.

Still, at least I've enabled you to feel superior hey?!

Merely stating facts and wondering how you think anyone would have any idea what your rash is, without even seeing it or knowing your medical history.
Rashes can be many, many things.
Hope it clears up soon for you.

Have you tried changing your facial moisturiser/products (assuming you use the)?
It sounds similar to what I had. A load of rash type spots just appeared one day along the underside of my jaw and down the sides of my neck. I had it for a couple of years and nothing would calm/treat them. Sometimes the spots would become very sore and angry.
I'd been using the same facial moisturiser for years but decided to change it as I felt it wasn't quite right for me anymore. Within a month of using a different moisturiser I noticed that the spots had completely gone.
It seems my skin won't tolerate anything with Vitamin C in it (as my previous moisturiser had). If I use anything with it in the spots return.

@Shufflebumnessie thanks for this - I do currently use a cleansing oil with Vit C but not usually in that area on my neck (mainly on my face, which doesn't seem to be having the same problem!) For that reason I think I can probably rule put my facial products, although there's always the possibility that different areas of akin react differently to the same ingredients.

@nozbottheblue thank you for your good wishes. As I mentioned above, I posted as it's an easy and fast way to crowdsource experience of similar situations. I didn't expect this thread to be a substitute for medical advice - more of an opportunity for anyone to share a similar experience or to flag something I might have missed in terms of hunting down possible irritants. I guess I'm just surprised that this kind of MN usage needs clarifying.
