For women with serious menstrual problems.

I read it was five days a month. Amazing. Women need every bit of good news we can get at the moment

stuntbubbles · 12/05/2022 16:51

I’d say I’m moving to Spain but bloody Brexit prevents me. I end up taking two days sick leave monthly anyway, be nice to have it mandated and signed off properly.

MorrisZapp · 12/05/2022 16:54

Does Spain not have normal sick leave policies? If you're too ill to work then you can't work, regardless of the reason.

I imagine it's not counted as sick leave.
Haven't read the article - will do - but how do they stop people taking the piss for 3 paid days off each month.

reluctantbrit · 12/05/2022 17:07

Not sure if I want my whole office to know about my cycle. Even if I don't say anything to people apart from my manager and HR people docan add things up and will come up with the right answer.

And I say this as someone who was glad being at home on Tuesday when I felt ill with period problems.

Make work hyprid working if possible and noone needs to know.

NightmareSlashDelightful · 12/05/2022 17:11

Menstruation isn't sickness. I think it's appropriate and compassionate to have a separate policy.

Lynnthesearesexnotgenderpeople · 12/05/2022 17:11

3 days every month? I assume this has to be certified by a doctor?

whenwillthemadnessend · 12/05/2022 17:15

Sounds amazing but in real life in Britain I can just imagine the threads now

Manager made me redundant using
Menstrual leave

Co worker taking the piss using menstrual leave at any opportunity

Can I go on holiday while in menstrual leave

I won't employ women due to ML laws

And many many more.

5 days a year seems more realistic.

Lottapianos · 12/05/2022 17:24

'Make work hyprid working if possible and noone needs to know'

Absolutely - managing periods is so much easier at home. Not an option for everyone of course

Georgeskitchen · 12/05/2022 17:24

This Will just ramp up the reluctance of some companies to employ women.
Men don't have periods or get pregnant
Well they didn't until the Gender ideology malarkey!!

I can’t work with a menstrual migraine whether that’s at home or the office.

So companies will just stop employing young(ish) women.... seems like a policy that hasn't been thought through!
