1st birthday and christening - how many presents?

Good morning everyone,

We are off to our friend's little girl's christening at the weekend, it's also her 1st birthday so they are having a joint christening / birthday celebration.

I'm going to go buy a present this morning but I'm unsure if we get two presents and two cards or a joint present for both christening and birthday?

Thanks

I think either would be totally fine, and I think some people at the celebration will do separate and others will do joint. Personally, I’d do separate: something keepsake-ish and/or religious for the christening and something a bit more fun for the birthday. My go-to presents for christenings are either a Noah’s Ark children’s dinner set or a personalised night light and for a first birthday I’d get something like a pull-along puppy or stickle bricks.

I Would do separate cards and gifts. Something keepsake for christening then toy/book for birthday

I'd do seperate cards and one present unless you're going to get something religious for the christening like a bible.

We split presents. A book with traditional fairy tales as a christening gift (we are atheists, so nothing religious) and a toy as the birthday present.

Thanks everyone. Read all your replies before I left and got two separate presents and cards.

I'd go for a one joint present and a christening slideshow/video card to acknowledge the event but two gifts is a good idea either way.
