Petition to stop Gov’t increasing ratios in Early Years settings as a pathetic way to cut costs, decreasing the quality of childcare at a crucial stage in early development. Not to mention make EY workers work harder for less.

@ICanSmellSummerComing

I would expect her to be behind defending childcare ratio’s and quality of childcare but it seems like this is being swept under the carpet. I’m sure she must have heard of this so one can only hope influential figures that don’t have to worry about childcare costs can see this will affect very young children in a detrimental way.

What I dont understand about from being a silly idea is understand what they want to do. One moment is saying be like Scotland ratio and have 1-5 for 2-3s and the next do whatever. It won't save money as nurseries could just use it elsewhere or won't do it.

Can't see it going anywhere. Didnt last time..one of those ideas that should stay in someone's head.

Unfortunately it’s in the news today that Nadhim Zahhawi is ‘seriously considering it’ to help ease financial pressure on parents.

Lovely way for the Gov’t to lower childcare costs by lowering quality of care while not having to cough up a penny.
