Leather Sofa- Pros and cons

Please help, I'm replacing our sofa and was thinking about a light coloured leather one.

Pros- can get light colour for dark room and it's wipeable/less prone to stains than light fabric.
Might wear better?

Cons- Two filthy boys might ruin it.
Two filthy cats might ruin it.
Does it feel cold and slithery?

Any thoughts appreciated. Cat pic attached so you can see the magnitude of the dilemma I have.

I don't agree with leather sofas. Just another misuse of animal products to me. Why does the human race have such a sense of entitlement?

We've had 2 sets of leather sofas due to my (now ex) DH preference for them.

I hated them and I just think they're bloody hideous. Any pros do not outweigh this for me. I've yet to see a nice looking one and I've sat on loads.
