Cornwall - with a wheelchair

Looking for recommendations of coastal places suitable for a level walk with a wheelchair, ie a promenade/tarmac paths along the seafront.

Staying half way b/w Newquay and St Ives and happy to travel anywhere but hope to avoid going down steep narrow lanes for nothing.

Also, inland places, maybe riverside or otherwise picturesque walks.

Hi. I'll be going to Cornwall this year (been a few times) but this time I'm probably going to be using a wheelchair at times. Places I've visited that are relatively flat are looe, polpero, Falmouth. Do you have a blue badge? That will help lots in getting closer to most places. St Ives was difficult because the main car park is on top of a hill and you bus down into st Ives, but not many buses had disabled access. Oh and padstow was ok too. Have a nice time x

Thank u, yes, we have a blue badge. Won't be going into St Ives, been before so making a list of other places to visit.

Marazion to Penzance is a really good level long promenade walk with views of St Michael's Mount. Marazion itself is lovely but the pavements are narrow and it is not particularly accessible for that reason. I can't remember enough about Penzance, sorry.

For beaches, I know for sure that Gyllyngvase has a flat promenade the length of the beach that is ok for wheelchairs. Perranporth doesn't have a promenade but they put out flats on the sand to wheel over, and you can rent sand chairs.

I found these lists of walks online too:

I live in Cornwall and use a mobility scooter when I need to. I have to say it's not the best for accessibility just because of it's natural geography but I am trying to think of places that are relatively flat 🤔.

Lots of beaches don't have flat access although I seem to remember that they were providing a beach wheelchair for hire on a few beaches, Perranporth might be one but I would check it out. Not sure of many places with promenades along beaches as the beauty of Cornwall is that so many beaches are less developed but therefore not great for those with disabilities. I'm near Newquay and beaches around here with flat access include Mawgan Porth, Porth and Harlyn (bit further up) but they don't have promenades. Perranpoth has a car park directly next to the beach. It is pretty frustrating but it's the nature of the area. I agree that Falmouth is nice and fairly flat along the town and around the bit with Museum. Gylly beach is flat from the car park and has a nice cafe v close to the road.

Trelissick (National Trust near Truro) has good paths along with beautiful views of the Carrick roads (creek/river) a lot of which are fairly flat - just don't try one of the formal gardens as DH nearly killed himself pushing me around there once😁

Will try and update if I think of anything else but have to admit that hills and narrow pavements mean that Cornwall isn't particularly accessible. I avoid St Ives and other hilly places like Fowey as it's just too anxiety provoking but if you're braver then go for it. Actually we had a nice river walk once at Lerryn, near Lostwithiel but that might be a bit too far East for you.

Do you know about AccessAble and Euans Guide? Both are websites that provide detailed access information. AccessAble have trained access assessors they send out and Euans Guide is a site where people can upload their own access reviews.

Thank you all for details and links, I will be checking them out one by one.
Much appreciated.
