How do you find time to interview for a new job when working full time?

Especially when roles these days seem to require at least 2 interviews and then an assessment day! I have no Annual Leave left to use. And after 3 second interviews still no job. sob

That's tough.

Annual leave is the only way tho. Or else call in sick but I personally couldn't do that

At the risk of sounding preachy, it would have been good to have kept some leave in reserve if you were job hunting.

When does your year start / end?

I have an urgent “blood test” on Friday and will have to leave early. Not ideal but if my company valued and progressed me I wouldn’t need to be looking elsewhere

I don't know what your situation is but if I have a telephine or zoom interview I just block out my work calendar so everyone can see I am busy and do the interview while I am working from home. By blocking out the calendar no one bothers me but I can leave my work laptop set up and everyone can see I am connected and they think I'm working. Eithically not the best thing to do but that hows I get around it without using too much annual leave.

I can’t do Zoom/ Teams meetings whilst working because I work from the office or that would be a good idea. I have used a weeks Annual Leave so far just on job hunting. I do have more left but need it for childcare. I couldn’t use time off sick morally I don’t think.
Blood test idea is a good one @ProudThrilledHappy. Hope you get the job!
My worry is that each job I’m applying for takes at least 2/3 separate interviews so I would need a lot of blood tests or urgent medical appointments.

I was thinking of telling my boss that I’m looking for a new job. But I can’t afford to leave until I’ve got one so doesn’t seem like the most sensible solution.

Depends on the job, and how nearby they are, but IME some employers have been willing to meet early or late (before 8 or after 6) for a second-round interview.
