Driving test nerves

Hello all! I’m currently doing my driving lessons again after having a 4 year break due to failing numerous times and just had the mindset that I am not capable of passing. I now have 2 children and NEED to pass this time round as I know it will my life sooooooooooo much easier! Is there any advice that you can give me to help me pass? Previous times I have done my test, I have failed with having such bad nerves. I have tried beta blockers but in all fairness, they did not help me in the slightest! My test is booked, but all I keep thinking is what if I fail again? Any advice/tips would be much appreciated

Personally I found not telling anyone helped as there was less pressure, I just said I was going out for a normal lesson. I used rescue remedy which helped keep me calm (I failed the first time at least partly due to nerves getting the better of me)- but if you've tried Beta blockers and they haven't helped I'm not sure if they will so much! Easier said than done but try not to put pressure on yourself. Yes if you fail it's annoying as have to wait for a new test date etc, but it's okay.

I haven't had my test yet but it's crucial you have a car to practice in. My test is months away but I feel confident to pass because I take the family out in our car all the time, just using the provisional license.

And definitely make sure you are fed and rested beforehand or you'll likely make mistakes. Good luck Smile

Not necessarily, plenty pass without taking a car out between, it's also more likely someone will pick up bad habits (everyone does but if it's before the test it can add up to a lot of minors). That's a brave supervisory person if you're taking a car full of people!

@Shoebie thank you! I may still give rescue remedy a go and see how I get on 😊 I’m really hoping to pass this time round x
