Which watch does your 12 year old wear?

Looking for a watch for DS. He has great difficulty telling the time and I'd like to get him one which is both digital and analogue. I'd also like to be able to set one or more alarms so he can take a bit more responsibility for getting himself up in the mornings and coming in on time. I also don't want to pay too much! Most of the watches I've see a few massive and he would prefer something smaller. Which watches do your DC wear, any recommendations?

Fitbits seem to be popular or most just use their phones

Much as I decry the tendency to not have clocks and watches in the house because "the internet will tell me the time" neither of my DS (12 and 14) wear the watches they have these ones they rely on phones and/or Alexa ("what time is it Alexa" is often heard coming from DS1's room, that AI has the patience of a saint). DS2 does have an alarm clock in his room, just a simple cheap one, as a/ I don't want him having his phone in his room overnight and b/he worries the phone will run out of battery overnight and won't wake him up.
So sorry, not very helpful there

My 13 yr old Dd wears an Apple Watch. Hands down the best. Can tailor the face for nearly any format. U can get decent refurbished ones on music magpie etc.

My 12 year old has a Huawei smart watch, it was about £35 and I’m surprised that he does wear it everyday and keeps it charged. He likes seeing how many steps he does and it’s easy to tell the time in. He doesn’t set an alarm but would be easy to do.

I hadn't even thought of smart watches, nor had DH. That maybe something we should consider. He doesn't have a phone yet, although we will give him one before the end of the year. Mainly I want him to start to be aware of time...

My 12 year old has a Fitbit charge. Syncs with his phone but that's a nice extra feature, mostly he uses it to tell time and count his steps.

At DD’s school kids’ Fitbits are all the rage - both as watches and as timers/stopwatches/step counters (DD is 9 and blithely seems to have no concept of being on time, but was desperate for what she described as a “step-counting bracelet” 😂)

My 12 year old had a fitbit a few years ago. He wears a Garmin watch now.

Classic old school retro Casio digital

Garmin venu - he wanted to be able to swim with it as he's in the water a lot.

The 14 and 10 year old have fitbits. The 19 year old has never managed to handle wearing anything on her wrist (not even jewellery, she can’t stand the feel), and makes do with her phone if she’s on the go, or the clocks/displays wherever she is. I have an apple watch, second hand from CEX.

There are a few kids with basic smart watches at the boys’ schools, the £50ish fitbits seem to be quite prevalent, though not as cheap as a solid standard watch.

12ho dc has a fitbit and a 1980s style Casio digital watch just like his dad's.
