Good Morning Mumsnet! What are we all up to on this Bank Holiday Monday?

(Yep, I know we're not all English, & that we don't all have a bank hol today. Just before anyone jumps on me!)

Anyway, I'm just finishing my brew & considering going to get dressed. I feel a bit sorry for myself so might have another drink first - I slept funny & my neck is really sore 🙄

I need to iron school shirts, & we're off to Asda for caster sugar for dd2's baking at school on Weds, then organising her ingredients (she does drama after school tomorrow, then we're straight out, so there won't be time then).

Apart from that, I think it'll be a fairly slow day. I might do some of my crochet life cycle - I ended up with different sized wings yesterday so put it away.

Not sure what's for tea yet. Possibly frozen fish & chips, unless one of the girls wants to cook something more exciting. We'll see!

I’m just heading back from Heathrow - round trip from home in the midlands to take DS 22 for his flight to Cambodia. Was proud I didn’t fuss too much 🤣

In Scotland so not a bank holiday but I am a Sahm and dh works for an English company. So waves the dc off on their school buses this morning and then we went for a mooch about town and had tea and a lovely slice of cake! I think I prefer this to actual bank holidays. No crowds. Everything open. No rush. And a dc free day.

Trying to clean up this shit tip before I take the kids the park, then cooking a roast dinner.

I took dd to crossfit training this morning and helped dh in the garden. He's removed four trees from the hedge and handed me the cut off branches so I could pike them up.
Then I collected dd, came home and watched dh put up a fence.
Dh is now making a small picket fence to try to stop the dog from going into the raised vegetable garden.
I was supposed to be doing some painting but as it's drizzling that's a no go. Just as well because since I had covid breathing is hard at times and I get tired easily, so I'm now on the sofa feeling a bit crap.
Dh has a tip run booked soon so will be leaving shortly to dispose of the hedge.
Just trying to have a relaxed day overall.

We've just had lunch; avocado on toast with tomatoes & scrambled eggs 😋😋

Now to tidy the kitchen, iron school shirts and then diy mochi and bubble tea 🧋

Day 6 of DS's chickenpox, starting to go stir crazy! He just wants to play with DD but she just wants to relax. The fighting is making the quarantine so much worse! (DD hasn't had CP yet but she's 8 so probably won't drive me quite as insane when it's her turn.)

Doesn't help that DH went out all day yesterday and is now tired and not really helping (not hungover, he doesn't drink). I'm letting him off as it's unusual for him, but it's still annoying! He's taking DD out for a bit now but I'm stuck inside with DS... DD asked specifically for DH to take her as she missed him yesterday, so I just have to suck it up and get on with it!

We are cleaning and sorting for a party on Friday evening. I've bunting pit up. House is getting a good clean.
I've seen the Downton movie and loved it 💖 enjoy it all going today.

Curry is made so no comments cooking. I've refilled the sand pit so DC are playing happily. I've to varnish garden furniture and then chill with DJ Ray tonight

Screaming on the inside. Three children under three, nanny on holiday, completely unmanageable senior job working for a bully and expecting a nightmare day tomorrow.

I am in bed in a funk. My DD has gone for a sleepover and DH is doing DIY.

The funk is because apparently it’s my job to pick up everyone’s rubbish after them, when there is a bin in every room and they’re never usually more than 5 feet from one.

Literally rubbish on the FLOOR. Pigs.

That said; I currently seem to be doing laps of my kitchen picking up after this afternoon's culinary efforts. We need to do some tweaking but it's quite tasty

And diy ice cream mochi for later on 😋
