Attractions to visit near Gloucester & Cotswolds

Can anyone recommend any particular attractions to visit around Gloucester and the Cotswolds please? We are staying in Little Witcombe near Gloucester.

We will have a 7yo with us and also have National Trust and English Heritage memberships. We like to visit stately homes, museums (some aimed at kids too), animal parks, and anything unusual really. Not interested in soft plays and similar.

So far I have Hopewell Colliery, Clearwell Caves, Holst Victorian House, Jet Age Museum. I’ve seen mixed reviews about NT Dyrham Park.

I'm from Gloucester. Everything other posters have put, also Tewkesbury, Wainlodes (pub on a river), Newent, you put jet age museum - less than 5 mins away is aviator cafe / restaurant and located right next to Staverton airport and lovely views the planes taking off / landing. Forest of Dean has a sculpture trail.

I live in the area. Hands down I'd say Cotswold Farm Park (the wildlife park is good too, but the Farm Park is one of those extra-special places - genuine farming/conservation of breeds, with interesting talks, live lambing at present, a woodland walk and play areas inc huge bouncing pillows).

I live opposite the GWR steam railway and love it, but not sure how exciting that is for a 7-year-old unless he really loves steam locomotives.

Broadway has a wonderful open-air playground right in its centre with equipment for all ages, and is a beautiful village for adults to enjoy also,

Chedworth Roman Villa (and Cirencester has a good Roman museum, the Corinium, if you like Romans.)

I hate Gloucester and find it depressing but I see some fans on here.

Perry grove railway is just over the road from Puzzlewood, nice for a train ride through the Forest of Dean.

i second Snowshill Manor, NT - it's so quirky!

If you’re NT Members try Snowshill Manor near Broadway and then head over to Broadway Tower to see the folly and it’s herd of red deer. The village is well worth a visit too.
