Help - pillow giving me migraines every day , what pillow do I need?

I’ve had a week of awful migraines that I’m waking up with, my neck and shoulders are in spasm and really hurt to the touch.

I’m using a tempur contoured pillow but I think it’s too high which is causing the problem.

I’ve read that buckwheat pillows can be good, anyone tried them and find they help? Or other suggestions?

Thanks

You need to see an osteopath. If your headaches are anything like mine, then it's highly likely some of the joints in your neck are out of line and need to be sorted out. You could have postural issues as well, which won't be helping.

Recommend the sleepeasy pillow too. I had my trusty contoured tempur for 13 years and it finally gave up. I had a back operation about 15 years ago and started to get my daily back/neck/headache issues that my tramadol/amatriptyline cocktail didn't relieve. Night four of my easysleeper and today woke up feeling normal. They have an offer on currently so got it reduced. Previously bought the Emma pillow that made it far worse.

Feather pillow is the only one that works for me (but I do feel guilty about how unethical it is). And as PP said, make sure your shoulder is tucked under the corner of the pillow.

Loads of other things set mine off though. Even wearing trousers that are too tight- makes me tense and uncomfortable, normally triggers a migraine by lunchtime. Putting my hair up, wearing heavy jumpers that pull on the back of my neck, or any top really that sits at the wrong point on my neck. I even have to take my lanyard off at my desk because that's too heavy for the back of my neck 🙄

Whereas for me feather pillows give me a migraine! I have to check carefully when we stay away.

@Silverstreaks I an sensitive but if I cut the prog and oest patches in half I can manage, I'm off as I'm having an op on my ankle next week and am increased risk of DVR. Once I'm mobile I can go back on.

Hopefully having an EDS diagnosis will give me clout for referrals back into neuro, rush it will do the opposite though and they'll just shrug and day is all part and parcel.

If so I'll try NMC as @SilverHairedCat mentioned
