Giving blood

Has anyone done it? I've just signed up as a donor but I'm wondering if they would even be interested in my blood as it's not very common and therefore won't be in demand particularly!?

I'm AB-.

What I'm saying is I am not trying to deter you from giving plasma, but please be mindful it doesn't cost you too much in terms of your well-being.
In my case i couldn't donate and then do a productive day at work as I was so tired.
I know it would also inhibit my immune system so I wouldn't Donate plasma before a busy weekend away as I would then def would feel run down.

The rarer the blood type the more it is needed 🙈

O neg is always in demand because it's the one they can give to anyone in an emergency. I am constantly being asked to donate because of this.

I used to give regularly but now am on a treatment for a chronic illness that is a blood product, so they won't take my blood any more, in case I have accidentally got vCJD or something like it. Shame, as I'm a universal donor (O-).

Yes I donate and am O negative too. I've been rejected a couple of times for low iron and I turned dizzy and passed out the second time so I always make sure I eat and drink beforehand now.
