Thorpe Park for 5 Yr old?

My 14 Yr old is desperate to go to Thorpe Park. Dp is very busy so I will probably have to take my 5 year old along. I'd much rather do Chessington but she's desperate to do Thorpe Park and will be off with her friend. Is there anything for the 5 year old? The list on website looks rubbish for small kids.

Its not great for a 5 year old. Could you not drop them off and then go to Chessington with your son and then pick them up at the end of the day?

TeenPlusCat · 27/04/2022 18:23

Not what you asked, but could you drop at entrance and pick up later?

It's not the best for small kids. Could your DD and her friend stay there alone and you go off and do something with the 5 Yr old.

I wouldn't.

Why on earth would you go with her? Drop them off, pick them up. I think most kids would be going without parents from year 7!

Get dd to take a friend. Drop them off, pick them up. My ds's have been going for years.

piglets29 · 27/04/2022 18:36

I wondered about sending them alone but it's a long trek from ours and there's a couple of 11 year olds going too. Shame as I remember going to Thorpe Park in the 80s and

Oops posted too soon. Yeah in 80s Thorpe Park was a fab brownie day out

Can you ask a favour of a friend?
(And then take friend's 5yo to Paultons park with you on another day?)

I don't blame DD for wanting Thorpe Park. I think I'd be pushing DP to take the little one - is he really so busy he can't have her with him for a few hours one weekend? With TV babysitting if need be.

piglets29 · 27/04/2022 18:42

Ok I will rethink. All my kids have birthdays the same month and I was hoping to get all birthday treats done and dusted in one day out!

We're in the thick of DIY. Part of plan was an empty house for the day so he can crack on. Anyway good to have what I suspected confirmed. I won't make her compromise with a Chessington day out...

This is what DH did a few years ago.

Dropped DSD and friend at Thorpe Park, went to Chessington with DD and then picked the older 2 up later.
