Ticket prices for families of 3

It would be nice to catch a break sometimes, but family tickets are usually more expensive for families of 3 than buying individual tickets 😜.

Do I need to start a campaign? Has anyone else started a campaign already 😄?

"Family tickets are usually more expensive for families of 3 than buying individual tickets".

That's lucky for a family of 3 then. You can get in for cheaper than a bigger family.

I get that you are saying you end up paying more per ticket but all types of retailers offer a cheaper price per unit when you buy in volume. 3 for 2s, buy one get one free, cheaper heating oil the more litres you buy, bigger containers of liquids coating less per litre. Tickets into venues are the same. They offer cheaper prices if you buy more as they end up getting more money the more tickets they sell. It's not charity for bigger families. It is business.

Recently I've started seeing different family sized tickets... 1 adult, 2/3 kids, 2 adults+2 kids, 2 adults + 4 kids...

Basically venues want families to visit, so they do the discount for a second, third child.

Venues also know that they'll sell more stuff (souvenirs, drinks, food) and boost profits that way.

If its cheaper for 3 individual tickets then just do that? The discount isn't usually significant anyway. I took a 'spare' adult with me on one day out as the family ticket was 2x2 only. I am seeing more variation too now, but it doesn't make a huge difference. Personally my bug bear is just how expensive any of it is in the first place. On one income, cinema, trampoline park even, theatre, days out are a stretch.

Doesn’t really bother me. Life is much cheaper with an only child but I do use the discount when DS takes a friend along.
