My name is eg. Jane Smith, flights booked in name of Jane Smith....passport says Jane Fiona Smith ....will this be a problem?

No problem. Airline reservations do not use middle names.

SillyBub · 25/04/2022 20:46

No it won't be a problem. I don't have a middle name so this has never been an issue for me but when I book plane tickets for DH and DC I never include their middle names on the bookings which are detailed in their passports.

ItsOnlyWordsInnit · 25/04/2022 20:48

Gosh no, I never include my middle name on flight bookings, but of course it’s in my passport.
The only time I‘ve heard of it being a problem was with my BIL, who commonly went by his middle name instead of his official first name. Once he accidentally booked the flight under that middle name - so in your case it would be like booking the flight for Fiona Smith without including the name Jane at all. Check-in made a bit of a fuss, but he still got on the flight. In your case it’s really not an issue.

You don’t even need a passport for a UK domestic flight

even if you did, it would be fine

Photocard driving licence can be used I imagine

ImInStealthMode · 25/04/2022 21:19

Yep no problem at all for a domestic flight. As PPs have said you can travel on your driving licence or other official photo ID if you have one, no need for a passport at all.

RedDiamond · 25/04/2022 21:20

Just take your Passport if you do not hold a driving licence. As long as whatever you present shows a photo of you it will be no problem.

ImInStealthMode · 25/04/2022 21:28

In fact, if you're flying BA and aren't checking a bag in they may not even check your ID at all.

We fly domestically frequently (live offshore) and easyJet always check everyone but BA are hit & miss. DP travelled at the weekend and his was only checked in Heathrow when he transferred to his international flight.

Even on their website they only say it 'may' be checked (but of course you should still carry some).

Thanks again
