Hi @Rachaelc0402 I find the NHS combined test very confusing. They use an algorithm based on NT scan measurement, blood test (hcg & papp-a), age, ethnicity, whether you smoke, whether you’ve previously had a trisomy & if it’s an IVF pregnancy.
3.2 is within the NHS normal range so hopefully everything comes back fine. its odd that you were told bloods can take up to 6 weeks.
I had my scan & blood test 2 weeks ago at 12+5 & was told I’m high risk with a 1 in 9 chance of Downs (T21) & 1 in 130 Patau (T13). I was given 3 options (NIPT test, CVS or do nothing). I opted for the NIPT blood test as it’s deemed more accurate whereas CVS is more invasive.
NT was 2.9 & my blood results were 1.09 hcg & 0.93 Papp-a.
My last pregnancy ended over 2yrs ago due to Edwards syndrome (T18) so I was highly stressed to be told I was high risk again. The NT measurement then was 6mm which is extremely high & the sonographer identified other issues. I had CVS back then because NIPT wasn’t available on the NHS.
Thankfully I’m pleased to say my results for this baby came back low risk for all three trisomies & can only assume I was deemed high risk due to my age (43) & previous T18 result.
Good luck with your pregnancy x
