Norethisterone and how to use it to delay periods

My period is due the day I go on holiday in June. The last time I took this tablet to delay my period I felt absolutely awful around the time I actually got my period - light headed, dizzy, very strange, probably due to the hormone drop.

Is it possible to take this sometime in May to push out that period by a week which will then push out the June one? Or will I still get my period at the usual time in June?

im not sure if the drug just affects that one period that you take it before or do all periods then stay in the 4 week cycle going forward. Hopefully I’m clear in what I’m trying to say 😂

I just don’t fancy returning from my holiday then having to feel awful when I stop it like last time, would rather get the side effects out of the way before I go

Yes,I think you can do that. I've only taken it the month I was away, but my next period after taking it was still 28 days-ish.

I did exactly this for my wedding and it worked beautifully!

I didn’t want to risk taking it for the period due around the wedding in case it made me feel awful so used it to shift the previous one instead.

It should work but not guaranteed. Cycles don't always like to stick to the rules and I've had mixed experiences with northisterone. Now I take the mini pill instead and don't have periods at all although they return very quickly if I take a break. Might be worth considering taking that short term instead?

I take it permanently and it works for me with no side effects. Have had no periods for over five years.

It worked for me for my wedding. As long as you're fairly regular it shouldn't be too hard to predict but I suppose different people have different reactions.
