I’m sorry, Paulton’s park is HOW much???

I seem to have woken up in a parallel universe whereby it costs me and my DH £116 to take our 3 year old to Paulton’s park for the day. Surely this cannot be right?! This includes £26 saving for booking in advance, if I wanted to go today it would cost £143. This is insane, have I missed something or does everyone use 2for1 vouchers or some other trick to make it vaguely affordable?!

I do think Paultons Park is one of the best parks though.

Anyone near Surrey, Bocketts Farm is a good day out

bocketts and godstone are both amazing- spent £50 last time but £20 of that was lunch which I didn’t need to have bought, packed lunch always easier with fussy younguns
the soft play alone at bocketts is near worth the money!

It is very clean and ppw is fully immersive but the price is no longer justifiable for us. My child is disabled and only goes on 4 rides, not in a wheelchair so we can not get a discount. We only go the ppw side. Their website says they don't discriminate disabled and therefore charge everyone the same but this isn't fair when certain disabilities mean you can only go on 4 rides. Their queue pass only allows one turn on each ride so therefore we are paying for my child to go on 4 rides and the attending adult goes on 2 rides. We have been every year for several years and even though child now pre teen is still mentally much younger and we could probably get many more years but the price and disabled service has put us off returning.

Nobody accepts that there are too many people here. I’ll probably get called racist. But in fact, I think 20-30 million of us should live elsewhere in the world. Look at the scrap over school places

Er you know the population growth is down to people living longer & immigration? So which 20m are you banishing?

giggbig · 23/04/2022 10:44

@OnlyFoolsnMothers the first time we we g we didn't realise they had all the other stuff past the stables, discovered that on our next visit 🤦🏻‍♀️

@LetsGoCrazyPurpleBanana they’re £250 per person if you want to be able to go in the holidays or at the weekends 😯

Blimey I'm sure they were About 130 3 years ago. We worked out 3 visits and it laid for itself. We used to go every other month :0

I remember looking at it just after the first lockdown had lifted and thinking it was expensive. In the end my DH took our youngest dd 2yo on his own as a Daddy Daughter treat. My older 2 would have liked to have gone but they had done lots of trips to legoland, Alton Towers before and there was no way I was paying for all of us to go.

Deathraystare · 23/04/2022 14:11

I am usually blissfully ignorant of the prices of these things because I have only gone as part of a family group in which they treat me. But I do remember one day being somewhere and noticing the prices and telling my SIL how shocked I was but she said (wherever it was) was one of the cheaper places. I then started to take note of the prices wherever I went and thanking god I had no kids!

Deathraystare · 23/04/2022 14:12

Before anyone suggests I should treat the family, this was years ago when I was unemployed! The kids are in their 20's now!!!

Bunnycat101 · 23/04/2022 23:39

It is expensive but I think it is a really high quality offering. I much preferred it to Chessington which felt pretty run down and had terrible queues when I went. Like others have said Paultons was immaculate on our visit which gives confidence that they’re on the ball re maintenance. I also really liked how many playgrounds were incorporated near rides. It was a much nicer experience being able to mix up rides with playgrounds and meant that I could take my little ones for a play while my husband did a few of the bigger rides (with negligible queues). I’d happily pay double for Paultons than chessington. I haven’t done lego land yet with mine but all of the reviews seem to suggest you’ll have a shit time without a reserve and ride pass so you can probably double the headline entrance cost if you need a fast pass.

@Bunnycat101 legoland is shite, the queues are so long.

Would anyone know if Paulson’s Park is usually open in Dec/ Jan? Crazy time to go I know (especially as I will be standing around holding the bags on account of the fact I can no longer seem to tolerate any of the rides except the Log fume and Go Karts) 😂 We are visiting family and coming from overseas so we will be back for Christmas.

Melzbelz · 25/04/2022 19:43

I should also ask as well if it would be worth it for me DH and DC (who would be nearly 9)?

modgepodge · 25/04/2022 20:03

Yes it’s open in December, I went last year. They have Christmas decorations and so on. There are some big rollercoasters as well as things for little kids so it would be suitable for you all I think.

Sunshinegirl82 · 25/04/2022 20:18

We went to Chessington recently with Tesco vouchers and it was ok but it really wasn't a patch on PP! Seemed very run down, quite a few rides were closed, most of the cafes/food places were closed. I'd have been really hacked off if we'd paid full price to go.

PP is expensive but it's fairly comparable with other attractions to be honest. Chessington is £40 per person, the local farm we go to is about £70 for a family, aquarium is £30 each, even softplay is going on for £40 for 1.5 hours.

I will say that PP is a fantastically well kept park, it's immaculate, everything feels fresh and well looked after and the food is surprisingly nice and not expensive. We only go once a year but always have a brilliant day.

Thanks will buy a set of thermals ( we will be coming from a summer season) 😀 and give it a go.

Paulton's is not open for lots of December, or at all in January. See cdn.paultonspark.co.uk/cms/uploads/2022/01/11/Web_Calendar_2022_Premium_Pass-1124x1840.jpg
