Frog bike assembly?

Thinking of biting the bullet and buying a frog bike as a first bike for DD. Due to availability and cost I may have to order from an online stockist which would involve partial assembly. I'm clueless at things like this so wondered if anyone's done it and can offer some reassurance? I know there's always the option of taking into bike shop for professionals to assemble but aware that'd incur further costs on an already expensive bike!

We did it once and it was mostly ok but the brakes were a bit tricky to get right, and we ended up taking it to local bike man and paying him to make it work better.

I would say they have amazingly good resale value so bear that in mind too.
Also I recommend getting a kick stand fitted so it can be propped up - don’t think they come as standard. We’ve had them without but it’s better with!

(We are total beginners at things like bike tinkering - it may well be that someone a little more capable or used to tinkering with bikes would have had no trouble at all).

@Talipesmum thank you so much for the reply. My guess is that we'll be probably able to fit some parts by ourselves but not all.

Definitely planning on getting a kickstand. Imo all bikes should come with them!

How did you/ your DC find the bike? Going to check it out in a local store tomorrow. Can't believe I'm getting excited about children's bikes, and I'm not even into cycling myself!

Ah we’d totally recommend them. Our boys have had them for years now. They’re really light and easy to ride, they look good, and they have excellent resale value (eg one that we bought for say £380 sold for £250. Which was then put towards the next size up.
I’d say go for it - but they are always selling out and we found ourselves frantically calling round stockists in the early days before we realised! It is often worth calling up the smaller shops that don’t have comprehensive websites - they’re the ones likely to have some left!

@Talipesmum it's great to hear that it's retained so much value! All the more reason for getting one. Am slightly worried about bike being stolen while out and about though. But I guess we won't be leaving it outside for any length of time.
