They turn into teenagers....

ZwayLo · 22/04/2022 16:30

Children steal your soul and consume your spirit as a snack.

The first few are exempt from this practice.

SalsaLove · 22/04/2022 16:32

More money

RedRobyn2021 · 22/04/2022 16:34

I'm so tired

lotsofjellytotz · 22/04/2022 16:36

Say goodbye to all of your personal space and going to the bathroom/taking a bath alone

PinkPlantCase · 22/04/2022 16:38

My 10 month old has not slept through a whole night once. Since he was born.

His childcare also costs £1,200 a month

Oh and we have not been well an any point in 2022. I have either had a cold, cough, flu or norovirus. We somehow had noro twice. I’m just waiting for chickenpox to happed too.

Scroll through the thread titles on the “Parenting” or “Teenagers” boards. That oughta do it 😂

soupmaker · 22/04/2022 17:02

Do. Not. Have. Another. One.

Twice the expense, thrice the noise. The mess. You'll never get out again, but even if you could you'll be so fucking tired you'll just want to stay in.

After the cute stage, there is the teenage years.

Quit while your ahead.

OurChristmasMiracle · 22/04/2022 17:04

you Will never have a hot cup of tea or coffee again 9+months of no alcohol. Sleep deprivation is a form of torture for a reason and babies provide that for free!

Waxonwaxoff0 · 22/04/2022 17:05

I have one child who is almost 9. I shudder at the thought of another child. I'm finally at a stage where he doesn't need me for every single thing. Can't imagine having a baby/toddler permanently attached to me again. Ugh.

orbitalcrisis · 22/04/2022 17:08

When my son was a baby I was eating some grated cheese with my fingers and realised on the third mouthful that there was baby shit under my index finger nail. That should do the trick! Or would you like to hear about my bleeding nipples?

Is being an only child awful though?!

No. I am an only child. Don't buy into the nonsense that it's "awful" from people who aren't only children and don't know what it's like.

And the education board, especially the higher education threads.

Gosh, imagine going back to having a baby when you've already endured it once!! Bugger that.

Most of our friends have stopped at one child, it seems to be more common now. The one friend who went on to have a second child really regrets it and is jealous of our only children!

TypicallyTopically · 23/04/2022 07:44

I used to wish I was an only chips but my child is alot more sociable than me !!

I don’t think you ever stop feeling broody, I know I haven’t. My two 20 and 19 now. Very pleased I had two though, they are best friends as well as brothers.

I'm one of two and so don't have personal experience. But I have several close friends who are single children who have the most sorted lives. They have very close relationship with their parents and growing up had lots of resources available to them.
In my life experience, the more siblings my friends had the lesser parental time, resources and individual love and attention they had which makes sense.

RampantIvy · 23/04/2022 07:58

Of course people do. TBH, I have never felt broody in my life. It's a completely alien feeling to me.

The same in my circle of friends as well. Even those of us who've grown up with a sibling have stopped at one.
I have one and plan to keep it that way. I know the time and resources that she can have would not be possible if she had a sibling. I also work full time and I would be frazzled if I had another one. I would never give up on my work as it provides me economic independence, time away from household chores and a lifestyle that I and my daughter couldn't have afforded if I didn't have my salary coming in.

I haven't felt broody since having DS. The reality of children vs the fantasy put that to rest!

Of course not everyone feels broody, some women don't have any desire for kids at all.

PurrBox · 23/04/2022 08:00

My third gave me the most diabolical varicose veins. First two had no noticeable effect on my body.

Galaxyrippleforever · 23/04/2022 08:04

I'm currently in my first trimester and it is hideous
