Am I doing this wrong (social interaction)

Since working from home and having team meetings I’ve noticed that when someone is talking I’m nodding and smiling along where as most of my team have a very ‘neutral’ look. Obviously in real life I would be looking at the person talking or notepad while writing something down (maybe glancing out the window) and not have a set of other faces right in front of me.

can anyone else relate to this?

All I know is that people like you are much easier to work with! Don't stop.Grin

If it's the sea of blank faces that's distracting, I think you can click on one person to focus just on their face on most platforms?

Thanks you @yogacurl I think it’s polite to the person talking but now I feel like I’m doing listening wrong. I don’t know how people can sit there with faces like slapped arses 😁

I do what you do and I think that's nice. Maybe the other people don't realise what they look like? Or perhaps they aren't listening Grin

Id say thats female socialisation at play. Thats not a criticism, but spending energy on smiling and nodding - why? Does the other person need continuous visual acknowledgement from you? If youre presenting do you appreciate smiling and nodding? Are you maybe projecting your needs onto others? None of this is meant as criticism, more of an exploration of motivation.

Fyi my concentrating face is frowning. So if Im frowning at you then you know Im listening.
